Marriage Appreciation
This is something I've been meaning to write about for several days. Last week I found out that 2 couples, whom I had never even suspected had any trouble, are getting divorced. I was totally floored. The first couple I found out from the husband when I ran into him while shopping. I don't know him well, so when I asked about his wife & he told me they were getting divorced I said I was sorry to hear that & went on my way & I didn't ask about the particulars. 2 days later a friend of mine tells me that she is getting divorced. This time I did not hide my shock & blurted out, "why?" Unfortunately there are many reasons, the least of which is that they just grew apart.
So here's what I'd like to say: I am thankful that I have a husband who treats me lovingly & kindly, even when I'm a grump. I am thankful that he cares enough about our marriage to make time for just us. I am thankful that he is willing to work hard so that I can stay home & raise our children & that he is supportive of my homeschooling idea. I am thankful that he is a Godly man & is a great example, not only to me & the kids, but to everyone who knows him. Without his love & support I wouldn't be the person I am today.
